Welcome to my website.
I was born and brought up in the Pennines of North Derbyshire and started painting seriously after I married and moved to Northamptonshire to live and raise my family. Watercolour has always been my first love because of its transparent and immediate nature, but after spending the summer painting I also very much enjoy producing small oils from sketchbook studies.
Contrasting light and shadows inspire me most on a variety of architectural, landscape and seascape subjects. I like to draw with pen and recently have been adding watercolour, sometimes combined with pastel to produce spontaneous, quite loose work.
